With the current rise of NFTs, a lot of people have been have been trying to get into the NFT space through different methods for using different methods with different personal reasons. And as a Nigerian, the odds are either stacked against you, or you are constantly bombarded with misinformation about what the space should look like and maybe how easily you can make money off it.

For today's person of the week, Bluepoint is hosting 'Photon', a rather successful NFT artist who will tell us about his inspirational and insightful journey as an NFT artist.

How did you get into NFTs?

I and two of my friends were working on this architecture job and one of them suddenly told me about NFTs and how her friend was creating with this software I was familiar with. I was envious cuz I knew how to use said software very well. So, I decided to explore and look ideas.

I experimented and created and created a few pieces and started learning more by doing research and chatting up a friend who is already in the space. Then I found myself mixing with loads of other artists and I picked up from there.

When did this all begin?

I think around March.

To you, what has been the most difficult part of the process

Actually, creating art is always fun for me and it's natural, it's never really difficult only problem is having a PC that isn't functional to optimal power. The selling part is the hard bit cuz it's not easy to be seen, to put your art out there and be noticed by collectors. It can be mentally draining and you can sometimes question your art if it is good enough. so, patience is usually the key.

That means everything about the creative process is the fun part

Yesss... And making new friends.

How much of a problem do you think having access to proper equipment is? Do you see yourself doing better with better equipment?

Hell yeah... Better equipment means better workflow and speed. Really saves a lot of time and headache. Also, art quality improves exponentially.

How has building hype and a network around your art helped you market? Do you think you could have done without it?

Well, thing is... I personally am social online. So, I think it's almost natural for me. I build organically. Unknowingly. I just have people drawn towards me and vice versa. I don't think I can do without my community. Their support is really the best.

What software do you use to make your art?

I use various software: Lumion, Sketchup, 3ds Max, Corona, Vray, and sometimes Blender.

I think Blender is the most popular here. Can a noob use it to make art?

Art itself doesn't have a definition; a line in space can be called art. So yeah, anyone can use it. Even with little knowledge.

Do you have any bits of advice for the guys out there who are looking to make great art and sell their own NFTs?

The key advice is to be patient, and don't do this for the money entirely or you'd be burnt out. Keep doing what you love, keep improving on your art and be yourself.

Feel free to show us anything you would like to promote...

Make I plug my art😹
